During 2007 Colchester BPW has played a major role in the setting up of a local support group for women suffering from Endometriosis - a condition which affects two million women in Britain.

Sri Lanka Water Tank Project
Fund raising at our International Lunch enabled us to make a donation to the BPW Sri Lanka water tank project. BPW nationally collected £2,000 for the project which will eventually provide pumped, filtered drinking water for 150 families in the village of Illukpitiya, in the Pollonnaruwa district.
A back hoe was used to clear out the sludge.
The wall of the well is completed and only the finishing touches need to be done.
The water initially contained a trace of E coli. A treatment plant has now been installed.
